Raymon’s Trucking Corp is a transporter of building materials for various construction companies in the San Bernardino area. It was founded by Richard Rodriguez in honor of his father, Raymon. We met with Richard to celebrate his business's new status as an EmployABILITY Champion and learn what that means to him.
How do you plan to use EmployABILITY Business Grant funds to grow your business?
The funds will be used to hire individuals with disabilities, purchase accessible equipment for them to use, and provide training, including Class A certification, behind-the-wheel, and hands-on job experience.
What does the future look like for your business?
This industry can be difficult, prices of doing business go up, finding employees can be a challenge. But I see an opportunity to be successful and expand. My goal is to grow the business as big as possible to honor my dad by giving as many people as possible opportunities to succeed just the way my dad gave me opportunity. This grant will help me do that.
What does it mean to you to be an EmployABILITY Champion?
I’ve seen how difficult it is for individuals with disabilities to get meaningful employment, and I know they’re great workers. So, now that I have this grant, I can offer employment opportunities to people who will make my business better.
